Social Media - Changing The Face Of Business

Recently I've been exploring how Social Media is effecting the way we do business and how it effects relationships with friends and customers:

Here is an outline of what social media is, thanks to Wiki:
Social media are primarily Internet- and mobile-based tools for sharing and discussing information among human beings.[1][2] The term most often refers to activities that integrate technology, telecommunications and social interaction, and the construction of words, pictures, videos and audio. This interaction, and the manner in which information is presented, depends on the varied perspectives and "building" of shared meaning among communities, as people share their stories and experiences. Businesses also refer to social media as user-generated content (UGC) or consumer-generated media (CGM).

A number of years ago we would have seen a linear world, one that would be one that you would have to climb in rank for anyone to take notice of you, and often these networks had limited resources.

After been away from the net I have notice that things have changed to vast and flexible networks, where anyone can create social media, which in able us to do amazing and creative things for ourselves and more importantly others.

In conclusion I have started working within the business I work for and also my own to see the effects of Social Media working live - right in front of me. So far its all just starting!

Looking to the future it makes it exciting to be apart of is happening. I wish to speak more on this but any thoughts would be valuable.
